While painting on canvas, I gradually become aware of the limitations of painting on a solid, fixed object. The painting reflects the artist’s vision and is interpreted in endless ways by its viewers. But I wanted mare. I wanted the viewer to be involved with the picture. Leaving large parts of the paintings on glass and mirror to see oneself or one’s surroundings within painting .
Many of these paintings reflect Jewish themes, because it is in the spiritual and religious works it is most meaningful to become part of the artwork, incorporating oneself into the story and emotions as it pertains to himself in Judaism and the world.
